Clarity was appointed to provide consultancy support to help prepare the organisation for inspection by the Care Quality Commission and improve the reporting of quality of care information to the Board.

Approach

  • Initial rapid assessment of quality reporting including a gap analysis against regulatory requirements.
  • Developed a prioritised action plan gaining senior leadership engagement and ownership.  
  • Established a project board to report and maintain progress, and where required removing blockages.  
  • Refreshed the Clinical Governance Committee, improving reporting through to the Board.
  • Held staff surgeries to build an understanding of inspection methodology and the importance of accurate record keeping.

Outcomes

Significant improvements in internal awareness and processes, leading to better reporting of care resulting in three successful CQC inspections. Awarding ‘good’ across all five domains.
