Developing and Supporting Primary Care Networks
Primary Care Networks
Introduced in 2019 as part of the Long-Term Plan, with the aim of creating fully integrated community-based health services, Primary Care Networks (PCNs) are ‘the building blocks around which Integrated Care Systems will be structured’.
How PCNs operate and arrange themselves at a local level is largely up to them. Having supported a number of PCNs in the early stages of their development, we have some insight into the challenges facing PCNs and the resources broadly available. We can support you to define clear leadership and working arrangements, deliver on service priorities, and successfully navigate early years of collective operation, signposting to best practice resources and calling on our experience from similar organisations to sustainably build capability and confidence among your teams.
